The Kingdom of Cambodia offers an incredible mix of history, nature, and tradition, making it a destination not to be missed.

The Essentials

Weather

Cambodia has a tropical climate, with two main seasons:

  • Dry season (November to April) – The best time to visit Cambodia, with sunny weather and less humidity.
  • Wet season (May to October) – Characterised by afternoon showers, especially between June and September. However, the countryside becomes lush and beautiful during this time.

The most popular time to visit is from November to February, when temperatures are cooler and rain is scarce.

Money Matters

  • Currency: Cambodian Riel (KHR) and US dollars (USD)
  • The US dollar is widely accepted, especially in cities and tourist areas. Prices are often quoted in USD, but smaller transactions are usually made in Riel.
  • Credit cards are accepted in hotels and restaurants in major cities, but cash is still king, especially in markets and rural areas. ATMs dispensing both Riel and USD are widely available.
